“Let the chef decide.”

Omakase Burger has opened it’s second outlet at Wisma Atria, their first being at The Grandstand. Omakase is a Japanese phrase, which when translated means “I’ll leave it to you”. Omakase Burger, unlike the Japanese meaning in their name, actually specializes in fantastic American-styled burgers made from the finest ingredients & hand-made ground patties.

Aesthetic
I would consider Omakase Burger to be more of a fast food joint, but of course, a higher quality one. The outlet at Wisma is situated on the first level of the shopping mall, right in front of the lobby. The place has very nice decor, considering the fact that the place is something along the lines of a fast food joint. A mixture of bright orange & cyan is used in the place, with geometric shapes & lines. It all looks very clean & modern, as well as being pleasing to the eye.

Food
As mentioned earlier, Omakase Burger offers American-styled burgers. The key to the popularity of the burgers here are the quality ingredients used. Their burger patties are smashed, giving them an irregular shape which seals in the beefy flavour. Their buns are also created by a Japanese baker, giving them a really soft yet light bun that complements the patty.

The outlet at Wisma also has a few items that are exclusive to this branch; the Applewood Smoked Bacon & the Beef Tallow Fries (which are sadly only for the weekends.)

You’ll also probably notice that the burgers here are quite small for the price & in comparison to other places. Though the place has a fast food vibe, prices here are quite higher, something towards cafes/restaurants. Of course, you are paying for the quality, so there’s a pro & a con. They also charge GST unfortunately.

Root Beer Float ($5.80) This comes with a can of A&W Root Beer. What I really like is that you're getting the whole can, which isn't common. The soft serve ice-cream also works very well for the float. One of the better Root Beer Floats I've had.

Ultimate Cheeseburger ($18.50) Comes with Mushrooms, Grilled Onions, Applewood Smoked Bacon Whoo, this is the whole reason to try Omakase. It's definitely one of the best burgers I've had. Love the soft bun. Flavourful patty. I paired this with Truffle Fries. I really like their fries as well, especially since it is grated with Italian Black Summer Truffles. Most places just use Truffle oil. Price-wise, it definitely hurt, considering I had the large fries as well, this went over 20 bucks.

Omakase Chicken Sandwich ($14.90) Pan-fried Chicken Fillet, Artisanal Bun, Lettuce, Tomato, Secret Omakase Sauce The buns seem to be more formulated for the beef patties as both my friend & I found this to be pretty dry & it didn't work well with the chicken. After every bite, I had to take a sip of drink. I would recommend you stick with the beef burgers. Sweet Potato fries were chosen to go with this. Those were pretty good.

Worth A Visit/Revisit?
While I do really like the food at Omakase Burger, the price is just too high for something that’s more towards fast food. If you have not tried it, you really should, the beef burgers are fantastic & worth a try once. The overall concept of Omakase is pretty good as well. I do find their opening hours a bit odd, as they do not serve their full menu on weekdays from 3pm to 5pm. (Since when do food joints in shopping malls have a policy like that? I guess now.) I would definitely go back for the beef burger but probably only once a month or something like.
